Potassium is part of every cell in the body and you would not be able to function without it. It helps lower blood pressure and prevent bone loss as well. It is suggested to consume 4700 mg daily of potassium, but a lot of people in the US are only getting half that (eat your fruits and veggies!).
Guess what? Potassium is not only found in bananas. A diet loaded with ALL fruits and veggies will have you in the clear.

Try winter squash, sweet potatoes, white potatoes,  yogurt, orange juice, broccoli, cantaloupe, banana, pork, lentils, milk, salmon, pistachios, raisins, chicken, or tuna. These are all in order from highest amount of potassium to lowest.

But be careful, cooking foods in certain ways also destroys potassium (like boiling a potato).
